Auction for a Cure: Rules & Logistics

My online auction actually kicks off on Monday, January 23rd at 9am PST, but I want to give everyone a heads up regarding the rules and logistics in advance so you can be ready to bid!  All proceeds from this auction go directly to my Team in Training efforts for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Every donation supports a great cause, helps to extend research, and improves patients’ lives.

On Monday, January 23rd at 9am PST I will post all of the items each company has donated. Each item will have a minimum bid of $20. Once the items are posted, all buyers will then e-mail with a bid of what they would like to purchase.

To place an official bid on an item you must e-mail me at any bids left in the comments section will be deleted and NOT reviewed, only bids e-mailed will be considered official and affirmative.

All buyers will have until 12am PST on February 13 to submit their bid for the auction item(s). At the close of each day, I will update the caption above each item photo with the highest bid at that moment.

If by the time I close the auction there is a tie of bids for a particular item, lets say three people bid $40 for a sports bra, then I will draw those names from a bowl for a random winner.

Once you receive a YOU WON email from me, you will then need to donate the specified amount to my TNT page.  When you make the donation, please type in the auction item you have won in the comments section. Once the donation goes through, I will e-mail the winner’s mailing address to the company and the item will be sent directly to you.

The winner has 24 hours to make the online donation. If in that time frame the donation is not made, the next highest bidder will be contacted or the item will go back up for raffle.  If there are any items still up for sale after the auction closes on February 13th, they will be re-posted and readers will have a chance to enter a raffle for the remaining items.

After the close of the auction, I will post a Google Document that lists each item, the bids they received, and how I arrived at each winner

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding the online auction format. I am really excited for this and I really hope it will be a success for LLS!

Just to get you as pumped as I am, following is a short list of the contributing companies to date and I am still working to secure more items- THANK YOU to each company for your generosity and support!
